Our objectives

The sports councils' main objectives are to encourage, organize, promote, and convey values through sports activities for school-age children within the county.

For this purpose, they may carry out, among others, the following activities:

• Coordinate and, where appropriate, organize sports activities for school-age children in the region.
• Collaborate in organizing the Catalan School Sports Games and the Catalan Sports in School Program, in accordance with the guidelines established by the General Secretariat for Sport.
• Advise city councils, county councils, clubs, schools, and other entities within their jurisdiction on the sporting activities they organize and assist in their execution.
• Collaborate with the Catalan School of Sport and other competent bodies in organizing training and development courses, with the aim of improving the quality of the technical sports staff involved in school sports.
• Collaborate with the public administrations and entities responsible for promoting the optimal use of the sports facilities in the county or relevant territorial area.
• Promotion and management of sports facilities and complementary services that facilitate and enhance sports participation.
• To carry out or manage the sports policy of the county in accordance with agreements established with the Generalitat of Catalonia, municipalities, county councils, and other competent public or private entities.
